Let’s cut it all and talk about some movie stuff you know. Because I believe you have opened the page to hear something about the movie. Well first thing I will say about the movie is that it was awesome, and made so many senses to me as I watched it. I wanted to create an Operating system of my own, and I know I will one day. But after watching the movie I would say that the movie had cleared so many concepts of systems for me. Notice that I wrote system not the operating system. The reality is that operating system is a thing to be operated by human, but the system uses human. But thank god that we are not there yet. We haven’t created any such system, and I can’t say that we won’t. Or maybe someone has already created and we are inside it, doing what we meant to do. But the thing I noticed in the movie that was philosophical, also logical and technical. The purpose of life, and our choices, we all are here with some purposes in our life and we all get in some situation many times to make some choices of our own. The choices that we make in our life decide where we will end or which way we will go. Like I want to remind the end of part -2 it was ‘The Matrix Reloaded’. And in climax of the movie the creator of matrix meet Neo (The lead role), and ask him about his choice whether to end the program by returning to the system or to go inside again and try the other things he has thought to do. If you are a computer programmer then you would know that at the end of main function we return some value to the system by that value our system understands that now it’s time to end the program. In the programming our variables or function do not have choices they would what we would tell them to do. But in the larger than life movies you find something that doesn’t belongs to reality. And Neo who was a program working in a system had a choice like human life , to decide if he wants to go to system and end it and the Zion the other part of program will be destroyed and people that live there will die. Neo was curious to know more, and he did not want to let his people die inside the program. So he decided to go in again. And they he changed that program purpose, and his choice created an alert in the system. So system sends some robots to kill all the other variables that exist in that program or system, in programming world we call it termination of program. And then the function Neo asks to the system that if he will help the system to delete a virus like Smith (The overwritten program in Matrix, which one became out of control and was destroying the whole system.) so the system should shut itself down and let the people walk out the program peacefully. And yes he the system agreed. Then Neo kills the smith and program ends. The interesting about this was, that Smith worked as a virus, we often find such bugs in our computer too. Just remember every time you have spent with your computer, you would have faced a problem where on program don’t end easily and it creates other program run slow. But the in Microsoft windows system you press ‘Ctrl+Alt+Delete’ and then a window pop out (in Windows XP) or it terminates everything and take you to the system (in every other newer system in windows) and it shows you some choices. Then you click on taskbar, and the taskbar has the power to terminate any program directly. And then you click ‘End Process’ and the program end safely. This is how we deal with our OS. But The Matrix has showed something more unbelievable things. The best things they have showed us is AI (Artificial Intelligence).
To those who are unfamiliar with Artificial Intelligence, let me explain it in simple word. Presume that there are two rooms in front of you and you are asking the same questions to both of them, you don’t know who is inside which. What would you think they are if they are giving all the answer so obvious, for instance they are telling their name properly their aim properly and every other thing you are asking to them? And now if I disclose that one of them is Machine, then? The thing I want to tell you that if you cannot tell the difference between the action of human and machine, then the machine is called Artificial Intelligence. Sir Turing had this initially he has explained it very nicely. Now you can find more details about it on Google which is also a programmed system. Just think of it how the programming has shaped us, how it has shorten every technology that we use. There are a lot more to say but right now this is it for a blog.
